Product Details

The first designs for the Panzerhaubitze Hummel were developed in 1942, when the Germans needed mobile artillery to support armored units. It was armed with the 15 cm sFH 18 (L/30) howitzer, mounted on a special Geschützwagen III/IV chassis, combining elements from the PzKpfw III and IV tanks with new parts designed from scratch.

The vehicle had an open-topped superstructure with rear doors for easy ammunition loading. The crew consisted of a driver, radio operator, commander, gunner, and two loaders.

By the end of the war, 713 Hummel guns and 157 ammunition carriers had been built. They were part of armored artillery divisions, usually as one of three batteries, alongside two batteries equipped with lighter Wespe guns. The squadron had a total of 16-18 guns and two ammunition carriers.

The Panzerhaubitze HUMMEL kit is an excellent choice for anyone who values precision craftsmanship, military detail and the satisfaction of building.

This model captures the character of one of the most important artillery structures of the German army and fits perfectly into any historical collection.
