The 1980 Floor Show was a rock musical spectacle featuring David Bowie as the protagonist, held at the Marquee Club in Soho, London, on 18–20 October 1973. It was broadcast in the United States by NBC on 16 November 1973, as part of the series The Midnight Special, and was Bowie’s final performance as his character Ziggy Stardust. This double album set features the entire broadcast on vinyl for the first time.
This iconic performance features several guest performers: The Troggs, Amanda Lear, Carmen, and – most importantly – Marianne Faithfull, in career free-fall at the time but also on top form for this cabaret-style variety show.
